Coming Soon: Community Benefit Solar Plan
SAVE on energy. SHARE the savings.
STRENGHTEN Georgia Communities.
We’re offering a unique opportunity for businesses, nonprofits, houses of worship, and multifamily housing properties to go solar and make a lasting impact, without spending a dime upfront.
With a low-cost Solar Energy Procurement Agreement (SEPA) from Georgia BRIGHT, you’ll lower your utility costs and help local families. In exchange for accessing below-market rates for solar, you agree to share 80% of your net energy savings with eligible low-income households for the first five years of the project.
Process
- Design and Installation
Our vetted installers will design and install a system that is customized to your property’s usage patterns and needs. All of this happens with no capital investment from you, and you aren’t responsible for maintenance. - Save Money!
Your SEPA offers immediate savings. For each kilowatt hour of electricity you receive, you will pay Georgia BRIGHT less than you would pay your utility. - Share the Benefits
In exchange for below-market rate financing, you commit to sharing 80% of your net savings with eligible households in your community for five years, either as direct cash transfers or through a financially equivalent benefit like food boxes. Whether these are congregants in your church, bus drivers at your school, or cashiers at your big box store, you are helping reduce financial burdens while also reducing energy costs for your organization.
Power your Building, Empower your Neighbors
This is more than a solar project. This is a chance to turn your underutilized real estate into a force for good. By pursuing a Community Benefit Solar project, you are strengthening your organization and your community.
