Who can PARTICIPATE?
Solar for All programming will be open to Georgia residents who either earn under 80% of the Area Median Income for their county or live in a disadvantaged census tract.
How do I care for my SOLAR PANELS?
Taking care of your solar panels involves routine maintenance to ensure they operate efficiently and last as long as possible. Here are some key steps:
Regular Cleaning
Keep the panels free from dirt, dust, leaves, and debris. Clean them every few months or after storms. In areas with minimal rainfall, cleaning may need to happen more often. Use a soft brush or hose to wash them gently.
Inspection for Damage
Regularly inspect for cracks, scratches, or any signs of wear and tear. Address issues promptly to prevent more significant damage.
Monitor Energy Production
Check your energy production levels through your solar monitoring system. If you notice a significant drop, it might indicate an issue with the panels or wiring.
Check Inverter and Electrical Components
Ensure the inverter is running properly (typically shown by a green light). Check wiring and electrical components for corrosion or damage.
Trim Surrounding Trees or Foliage
If trees or plants are growing and shading your panels, trim them back to maximize sunlight exposure.
Annual Professional Maintenance
Consider scheduling a professional inspection annually to assess the system's performance and address any issues.
